All Aboard!

This RSV lockdown thing is not fun, but we're trying to make the best of it. Last week we had fairly good weather in our area but it was a bit to windy to take the babies for a walk and the weekend was nasty and rainy outside. We brought in the choo choo wagon to see how the babies fit now that they're a tad bigger than when we purchased it and they loved it. We ended up lugging them all around the house in it, which was a task considering the size of the wagon and the size of our house. I was amazed at how much they enjoyed it and looked around as if they were in a new world!

Brody leading the pack!

As they came down the hall I jumped out and scared each one. There's what... a foot and a half between each of them and yet each time I jumped out it was like the first time! Love this one of Korbin peeking around the corner anticipating Monster-Mommy!

Just a few more months to go.... until then we will continue to look for unique ways to entertain ourselves at home!

Big Day for Baxlyn!

Look very closely.... you see it?
Baxlyn (finally) has her first ponytail!
It was minutes maybe seconds before Korbin laid eyes on it. I'm pretty sure he pulled out 5 of her 7 hairs as he yanked the bow out.
Congrats my baby B!

Sweet Baby Girls

Bret and I took the girls last week to the developmental pediatrician, it was the first time to just be the four of us! Both girls did great and had a fun time getting to "explore" a new environment (poor things only leave the house once a month for synagis shots).
Kylee & Baxlyn

Baxlyn is doing great and scored above her adjusted age in most categories, with the exception of language. An early intervention specialist has come to work with both girls over the last month to hopefully help develop better receptive & expressive language skills. She is still our tiny one weighing in at 17lbs6oz but her size has not stopped her from doing anything. The past month she has learned to transition in and out of sitting, pull up to a standing position and walk along the side of the couch, and crawl the "proper" way which are most of her goals we had set for June!!!

Kylee had an overall good check up as well... which by the way she is now SITTING and WAVING (as you may have seen on the previous post)!! Unfortunately the signs of CP she had been showing over the past few months are still there and progressing. The diagnosis was made that she has mild-moderate Spastic Hemiplegia Cerebral Palsy. Although we had talked before about the possibility of CP, the doctor was reluctant to say it (obviously this is heartbreaking news for some parents and certainly not what any parent wants to hear). Some may not understand, but Bret and I cannot let go of or forget the fact that there was a point we didn't know if we would have this little girl to raise. The fact that she is here with us today is such a blessing. It is still too early to know exactly how she will do developmentally, but Bret and I have faith she will continue to thrive being the fighter that she is. Our little miss weighed in at 18lbs15oz!!

As we know many of you are, please continue to keep our precious babies in your prayers!

Thanks Bret & Heather

Kylee Does The Wave!

After lots and lots of practice, despite many obstacles and distractions, Kylee is the first one to wave!

Rub a Dub Dub... the Quads in the Tub!

We have always given the babies their baths in the "baby tub" at the sink. Lately they have been trying to roll over in it, grab the bottle brushes by the faucet, reach for the outlets... and other things that have signaled it may be time to start using the real bathtub. I LOVE to swim and be in the water myself so I was excited about introducing them into the big tub. We had to split them up 2 and 2 because we can't fit 4 bath rings in the tub at once :( The girls went first and loved it, they immediately figured out the whole splashing thing. Although they were enjoying their time, I was hunched over breaking my back trying to keep them from slipping out of their seats and above water. Kylee hasn't quite perfected the sitting up thing and the slippery seat didn't help the poor girl! When little Baxlyn made the slightest twist she had both legs through one leg hole of the ring and could easily squirm out of the seat. The boys liked their bath as well. It took them a little while to get the whole splashing thing down, the girls were by far the more wild ones!

The Girls!

The Boys!

Although it was fun and made for some cute pics, we've decided to stick with the baby tub a bit longer!

My Little Handsome Men

Well I have been talking about it for months and finally had it done... the boys first HAIR CUTS! Korbin has been in need of one for a while now. His cute little signature comb-over was well, combing over his eye brow. Brody's hair... I tried everything to tame that fro he had and can't count the times people have asked me "How do you get his hair to do that?!" as if it is my goal to have a chia-pet-on-miracle-grow looking baby. We were in the waiting room at Cranial Tech the other week and not thinking I pulled off Brody's toboggan, the whole waiting room gasped at the sight of his wild blonde hair! Miss Lynn was kind enough to come to our house because of it being RSV season to cut their hair (THANK YOU!).
Here's a before pic of Korbin sporting the Kate Gosselin look, ya know the spike towards the back & the comb over in the front. (Excuse his deer in the headlights look. He had just gotten up from a nap... ok and my flash was as bright as the sun :/)

Not that you need one (who could forget this hair?) but here's a before pic of the Broman.

Korbin did an awesome job, not perfectly still but much better than I had anticipated.
Lynn even let them hold and check out the shears!
Korbin's after shot. Still Korbin just trimmed up a bit and handsome as can be!
Then we have Brody. Gosh this is one happy baby - ALL THE TIME! He too did great and was all smiles the entire time.
Wa-La! No more afro!
This is the best shot I could get of them together. My handsome men :]

Thanks again Lynn for coming out to the house we greatly appreciate it!!!

100 and Counting!

That's right, this is my 100th post! Many people in this "blog world" post 100 facts about themselves for their 100 post. I thought about it... but realistically.... do you care that much? If you do THANKS! but I'm not going to list 100 things. Instead I thought I'd give you some "numerical facts" about me that add up to 100!
Bret and I have been together for 9 years.
In high school I attended 5 proms.
In my wedding I had 4 bridesmaids.
I have participated in 2 pageants.
Bret and I have been married 3 years.
I currently have 2 dogs.
I gave my heart to the Lord at the age of 7.
I weighed in at a whoppin' 10lbs when I was born.
I failed my drivers test 2 times.
I became an aunt at the age of 10.
Bret and I met when I was 12 years old.
I was a cheerleader for 4 years.
I was born on the 16th of April.
I took my first steps at the age of 10 months.
...and best of all... I have 4 babies!
Of all the blogs I have written here's a look back at some of my favorites:
"Guess What Guess What!!!" I can remember this day like it was yesterday and will never forget Brody's nurse that day, Mary, saying with a big smile on her face "Surprise!". It hit me like a ton of bricks when I peeked into his isolette. Such a big celebration day for my Brody :]
"Road Trip For Brody" This post reminds me of how much and why I love Medical Center of Plano and it's NICU so much. It's funny I even refer to the NICU as "home" in this post... but that's exactly what it was to our family and to have Brody "back home" after this surgery (that no doubt saved his life) was the best feeling ever as if he were back where he belonged.
"And then there were 4..." By far my favorite post and probably always will be. For obvious reasons :]
"Proof that I am one funny Mommy..." Sure the whole thing is darn cute, but I love the end of the video where they are all laughing, music to my ears!
