Happy New Year!

New Years Eve already?! Funny how your life can change in just one short year. This time last year I found myself big round and wheelchair bound just trying to stay out of the hospital and at the ripe bold age of 23, I was driving a minivan. Not exactly what I had envisioned but so much better... God has a funny way of throwing his unique spin on things :]

Hope everyone has a HaPpY nEw YeAr... Heres to 2010!

One year ago today...

... I sat at my computer with two of my best friends and wrote my very first blog. My intentions in starting our blog were simple. We wanted to have one place with frequent updates on my pregnancy and the babies that family and friends could all go to rather than me making a ca-trillion (yes that's a number!) phone calls each week/day. I never imagined our blog would become so much more than a little pit stop for updates. It has become our virtual baby book with some of the happiest, most uncertain, terrifying, exciting, and unforgettable moments in our lives and everything else that comes along with bringing quadruplets into this world. Every once in a while I scroll back and look at the past blogs I have written and it feels like DECADES ago... yet it's been only months. Really makes me realize how time is flying and how much your life can change in just one year... for the better :]

Christmas Pics 2009

We had another AMAZING photo shoot with Chuck Parrish from Parrish Photography. As you can probably imagine it is not an easy job getting 4 babies to look in one direction without tipping over, crying, puking, eating someones hairbow, chewing Christmas lights... (I could go on) but he somehow managed to do it. The first picture especially, absolutely took my breath away when I first saw it. Hope you enjoy them as well!

Merry Christmas to you and yours from all of us
here in Baby Land! Remember... Jesus is the reason for the season!

Quads Meet Santa (Picture Edition)

If you missed the last post "Quads Meet Santa" scroll down and check out the video! Like I have mentioned before I intend on making our blog into a book and obviously the videos I post won't be in them. This was a special occasion that must be documented sooo here's another look at out visit from Santa!

The babies' first sight of Santa!

It didn't take long for Brody to freak out...

But dear ole' Santa is prepared and busts out the wondrous candy cane and all is well!
Baxlyn loved the whole experience and would have gladly let him take her home!

10 Months

I can't believe the babies are 10 months old... and on top of that were about to celebrate their first Christmas... wow! Thought I would document where each baby is now that they have hit "double digits" (age wise that is)!

Miss Kylee
"As of 10 months I can say "Dada". I love to smile and laugh. I am getting really close to holding my bottle on my own. I can roll easily both ways. My reflux is getting WAY better as I get older. I am working on learning how to sit and to pivot on my stomach. I am the ONLY ONE who has a tooth and am expecting my second any day now!"
"Could I get any cuter?!"

Baxlyn
"As of 10 months I am almost a professional sitter. I can say "Dada" and "Buh Buh". I love to commando crawl especially to the tile floor. I enjoy being in the entryway playing with the door stopper thingy and being in the kitchen looking at the dogs. I am getting really good at holding my own bottle. I LOVE to pull up on things like people's knees and big things (Mom & Dad think I'm gonna be the little dare devil of the group)!"

"Here's a pic proving I DO have hair"

"One of the things I do waiting for Mommy to get me in the mornings..."

"I LOVE when Mommy shares her pizza with me!"
"For a second I thought I had found ANOTHER one!"

Korbin
"As of 10 months I am a pro at holding my own bottle. I am a pretty good sitter. I love to commando crawl into the kitchen. I enjoy talking and saying "Dada". I LOVE apple juice and don't hesitate to steal the other babies' when I'm done with mine. My favorite words to hear are "Jumpy Jumpy" it makes me smile."

"My doctors and therapists say the jumpy jumpy is not good for my tight hips so my time in it is very limited. I still spend time with the jumpy jumpy tho... holding onto it's straps from below..."
"...sometimes I hang on when someone else jumps..."

Brody

"As of 10 months I am a decent sitter. I am starting to pivot when on my stomach. I am a total rockstar at holding my bottle and do so with just one hand! I am a great talker and like to say "Dada". I also love to growl (yes like a monster). I don't like peas. I am doing much better at bearing weight on my legs when Mommy and Daddy hold me up. I am really starting to notice my brother and sisters, especially when were at the table eating, they make me smile!"

"Sitting with Dad at Childrens."

"Me and the best brother ever :]"

"I get to enjoy time with Mommy all by myself once a week at my cranial appointment (I get my third helmet this week)!"

Happy 10 months my sweet babies... PLEASE slow down :]

Proof that I am one funny Mommy...

I LOVE this video! As you will see Korbin can hardly contain himself and looks like he's gonna cry! What is soo funny? I was tossing around the little toy you see from my teeth... who would have guessed it would be so entertaining!? I did it a little later that day and he looked at me like I was nuts. But for that short period of time I was THE funniest Mommy in the world :]

Look at what were doing now...

The babies are not totally sitting up on their own, but they're getting close! Each one can sit independently for a short period of time before taking a crash. I'm hoping by Christmas they'll have it down :] Thanks to our MUST HAVE padded flooring we don't have to stress the babies falling over and bonking their heads. Not only do we not have to worry about head-bonking but we don't have to worry about puke or pee either it's great! Everything just wipes right up (by no means am I welcoming you to pee on my living room floor....)! I have attempted to get a pic of them all sitting together but by the time I get one steady the other one/ones has fallen... we will get there eventually!

One more picture supporting why the padded floors are a must.Don't ya just LOVE his look of innocence... "Mommy. It WAS NOT me." It really was my fault. I left my cup of Kool-Aid on the floor thinking I would catch any of the babies coming towards it... chyea right! (Why would I leave my cup on the floor?? I was on the couch eating and we no longer have coffee tables!!) The floor was an easy clean up but Korbin on the other hand was stained. His hands, arms & tummy was as red as red could be!

Stay tuned, priceless video of that little-red-stained-hunk-o-love coming soon!

Ready for Christmas!

One day last week Bret and I decided to get out the Christmas lights and decorations while the babies were napping. They happened to wake up at the time we had lights strung across the living room floor. I brought them out one by one to see all the lights for the first time ever... OK so this was probably a bigger deal for me but I'd like to think they will remember it forever ;) They all loved them! At this point Korbin was our only "crawler" (I say that lightly as it's more of a commando crawl) but when I sat Baxlyn down on that floor, she was GONE! Bret and I couldn't pull her back away from them fast enough and the girl hasn't stopped going since and leaves Korbin in the dust! We bought a smaller tree this year and put it on top what was the diaper changing area so the babies couldn't reach it and we didn't have to gate it off.

Little B helping Dad with the tree!

Love this pic. It's dark but they're all there enjoying the lights!

Oh Brody and his hair. Poor kids lookin' more like a Chia Pet everyday...

This is Brody's "Mom-get-the-camera-out-of-my-face-I'm-not-an-elf" look.
My little "toofer" Kylee

It has been sooo cold here in our neck of the woods the last few days. We went from shorts, tees and open windows last week to sweats, PJ's and hot cocoa this week. We even got our first snow today! As excited as I am about the winter being here I know it's going to be even harder taking the babies out for their appointments and more importantly keeping them from getting sick. I can't believe it's almost Christmas. This time last year I was big and round and wheelchair bound tryin' to stay out of the hospital. It blows my mind to think in the blink of an eye my babies will be a year old.... sheesh!
That's all for now. Hope everyone is having a fantastic week!
