Christmas Tree Farm {2014}

We went back to the Ivanhoe Christmas Tree Farm with Chris and Bethany in search of this year’s Christmas tree and had a great time!

IMG_9633

If you are local and haven’t been, GO! They have a great selection of beautiful trees at great prices! We walked out of there with an 11+ foot tall tree for $63! Here’s Kylee pointing out the one she wanted to take home!

IMG_9536 Baxlyn & Kylee. They’ve grown to love each other more and more over the last few weeks. Their room is filled with giggles and they’re full of “sister pride” lately. Just this afternoon they were trying to out-do each other with kindness. “I want Baxlyn  to pick the movie, Mom!” Kylee would say and then Baxlyn would be sure that Kylee saw she drew EXTRA hearts around Kylee’s name as they colored on the white board. If only it were this way 24/7 ;)

Brody & Baxlyn with a “tree” she carried around for a while before realizing we were serious when we said it was not coming home with us…IMG_9542 This picture. Melt Me. Seriously, it is so so hard to get them to cooperate these days. A few certain ones who we won’t name (ahem, K & K) sport some pretty feisty attitudes from time to time. I was so thankful when they all put on smiles for this picture that turned out to be one I’ll cherish forever!

Korbin collecting pinecones. Does he not look like a young man in this picture? So handsome and so big!

Chris & Bethany find their 2014 Christmas Tree and seal the agreement with a kiss ;)

IMG_9558While the other three collect as many pinecones as their wee arms could hold, Brody helped Uncle Chris cut down their tree. Blade had been doing his best to keep up with everybody, falling every 10 feet or so due to the uneven ground. He noticed Chris and Brody laying down so came over and plopped right down next to them. So cute!

Mr. Korbin, Prepped for Surgery!

Our sweet Korb is headed to Cooks Surgery Center in the morning (Tuesday the 11th) for a minor surgery. He’s had two small bumps just above his belly button since he was itty bitty. Multiple docs have kept and eye on them over the years and have never been too concerned. Some of the pros say they’re benign cysts and others believe they’re abdominal hernias. All the docs have agreed they’re nothing to worry about unless they start to bother Korbin. Over the past 6 months or so, Korbin has complained of them hurting. Nothing major, but enough to make him mention discomfort multiple times on and off for a while. He will be going in in the morning to have them removed/repaired. Dr. Kadesky will be performing the surgery which is to take no longer than 1 hour. After waking up and proving stable, our little mister will be on his way home and should be back at school within a day or two!

A closer look at his tummy before bed tonight (never mind the inside-out, backwards Pjs!)…

Korbin’s not nervous whatsoever, which is nice. In his mind he’s about to live it up at the hospital, receive balloons, skip a little school and eat ice cream for being brave like Brody did a few weeks ago. Although his won’t be quite the same experience, we’ll try to make it as special as we can ;)

We appreciate any positive thoughts and prayers you could offer us in the morning. He’s scheduled for surgery at 11am. We will update tomorrow evening. Thanks all!

Quads’ First Dallas Cowboys Game!!

Living on the outskirts of Dallas, we (ahem…Bret) have always been Dallas Cowboys fans. Going to the games used to be fairly doable for us. Throw a set of quadruplets, a baby Blade, and a new multi-billion dollar stadium into the mix and all of a sudden going to a Cowboys game is next to impossible for us. Our awesome pediatrician, Dr. Reyes, is the proud owner of season tickets and wanted to send not only Bret and I to a game, but the quads too! Bret and I were blown away when Dr. Reyes so graciously told us he’d like to send us to the Dallas Vs. Houston game and thankful doesn’t even begin to cover how we feel. There is no way our kiddos would have got to experience such a thing if it were not for him! L-R Kylee, Baxlyn, Brody & Korbin before entering AT&T stadium…

THIS was our parking spot, y’all. We passed hundreds on people walking to the stadium from over a mile away. Dr. Reyes’ family has their very own parking spot right smack dab next to the building…how cool is that?!

IMG_8981    Our seats were located in a beautiful, private suite. Here is our crew getting their special bracelets! They were the only kids in the area which made them pretty special. The staff loved talking to them and learning all about their quad-status!

Not 10 seconds after getting their bands on, the nice ladies pointed the quads straight to the candy bar. They were in awe and were excited to pick and choose whatever they pleased!

The nice couple next to us finally got the nerve to ask if they were all ours. We answered all the normal questions and they offered to take a picture for us…somehow we are ALL looking at the camera and all smiling. Brody is up for conversation with anyone who is willing to talk and it wasn’t five minutes later he was down chatting it up with the man sitting next to us!

Our suite included all the food and drinks you wanted which was great for the kids. Because it was private, there were not crowds of people which made it manageable for me to take the kids out by myself to explore. Here they are after visiting the cookie bar.

Clearly, they were having a horrrible time ;)
