Playdate at the Dallas Arboretum

A few of my Mom friends and I headed to the Dallas Arboretum on Monday with our sea of children. 3 moms 10 toddlers ages 2 and under and a 4 year old made for a fun, BUSY day! Surrounded by what felt like hundreds of single strollers I think we broke our record with the "what daycare/nursery are you with?" question! Love this one below of the quads mixed in with the Tew triplets and big brother Britton. Amazing how quickly candy can settle them down!

The Dallas Arboretum is always beautiful an this week was no exception. The walkways were lined with a gazillion pumpkins and the flowers were endless. Absolutely gorgeous!

While Angela and Jenny chase a handful of kids running in the field I catch this group on the verge of testing gravity at it's best....ahhh get down!

Below we have Jenny and her trio Ronan, Maxim & Julien. Jenny says to me "Hey Heather, take a picture of us as we sit so sweetly together! I can take it and use it as my Facebook profile pic! Bla bla bla...." gag me. Jenny's babies are still sweet young innocent 15 month olds (despite that evil look Max is giving me as I take his pic). You just sit there, Jenny, looking all cute in your little black hat and matching halloweeny orange scarf thingy holding your three little babies... your days coming when you're dripping with sweat like Angela and I as you chase around those crazy rambunctious boys ;)

How do you get a set of quadruplets and 2 sets of triplets to pose for a group picture together? Strap them down, line them up, back up about 89 feet, jump up and down screaming and looking like a fool and click...wa-la you've got it!

Yes, this would be Kylee smooching a goat. Nice.

Emmett. Oh Emmett, my lil' future son-in-law. When Kylee isn't talking about food, dogs or goats, she's talking about Emmett. A handsome lil' dude if I so say so myself!

Kylee holding a pumpkin and so proud of herself! (Hey therapists and docs...check out that left hand!)

Korbin showing off his muscles!

Another attempt at a group photo, 2 out of 4 not bad!

You locals who have not been to the Dallas Arboretum yet, GO! Until next time!

Twins Triplets & Quads - Oh My!

Our local Moms of Multiples group has activities set up throughout the month where we can all get together with all of our kids. This week - the Fort Worth Zoo! I loaded the babies up bright and early, made the long drive to Fort Worth and hoped for the best! I have a slight obsession with being early (or maybe just a major fear of being late?) So I arrived a whoppin' 45 minutes early. Here's a shot of Korb chillin' while waiting to meet up with his new friends...

Our stats for the day: 4 sets of twins, 1 set of triplets, 1 set of quads & 2 singletons/siblings! *ALL age 3 and UNDER!*
Tew Triplets + Cox Quadruplets = Holy Choo Choo Wagon!
I'm sure many of you are noticing our new umbrellas attached to the wagons. I TOTALLY recommend them especially to those of you who have the choo choo wagon which offers no shade. They are made by Radio Flyer and can be purchased at Babies R Us or Target (online only). The have a heavy duty clamp that attaches to small strollers, car seats, wagons and more. They didn't bother the babies at all and offered GREAT shade from the Texas sun!

Love this one of Kylee & Everett checkin each other out...
A grin from Miss B
We stopped at the cafeteria to feed and change all of the babies and quickly became the main attraction. This is typically what happens on any outing, unfortunately. The grocery store, the doctor's office, or a simple walk around the neighborhood often results in a crowd of people with questions to ask and cameras in hand. Every once in a while we have someone who will ask if they can take a picture of the babies, but most of the time (like in this case) people just bust out their cameras like we are another exhibit at the zoo. If I only have a way to charge a nickel per picture...

Baxlyn was fascinated with this Kangaroo statue and stared for a long time. I can't help but wonder what she's thinking here...
Love this chunky boy :]
They had a small petting zoo for the kids to enjoy. Kylee could have pet this chicken all day. After petting the chicken, she reached to pet the zoo keeper!
All 17 kids did great all day! After 4 long hours we called it a day and loaded back up. 2 of mine were asleep before we backed out of our parking spot and the other 2 quickly followed!
That's all for now, hope you all are having a blessed week!

F R E E D O M

At last, we are FREEEEEEEEEEEEEEE! Lockdown is OVER! We had planned on waiting until the beginning of May but with this beautiful weather and the RSV trends dropping dramatically we are now out and about and IT. FEELS. GOOD! I have never been so excited about summertime before in my life. This time of year I am usually dreading the upcoming Texas heat. This year I am looking forward to SO much after being in the house for nearly a year swimming, parks, play dates, swimming, church, vacations, and did I mention I love to swim?!

We are learning quickly getting out with four babies for long periods of time isn't the easiest thing to do. I usually pack enough for our appointment and we are gone for a few hours. Bret and I are now finding ourselves thinking about how our outings are going to affect the babies and the strict (but necessary) schedule they have been on since coming home. "How much milk to we bring? Will there be extra hands to help? We won't have our quad table, how will we feed them? Will the restaurant have 4 highchairs available? Will they be able to nap not at home (no is the answer to that one!)? Do we take the stroller or the choo choo? Is this person's clean, organized, trinket-filled house REALLY ready to welcome 1 year old quads?" The list goes on. We have become so good at knowing the in's and out's and the do's and don'ts and the tricks to making everyday life easier with quads but this..... is a whole new ballgame (for us and the babies) and I hope we can quickly adjust. I find myself saying over and over that I will not let the fact that we have four babies keep us from doing the things we enjoy. It's very different but it's our new normal. I know the days are numbered BUT the babies have yet to make a scene (besides the obvious) at a public place and are still in awe at seeing new people and places. Here are a few pics of a few of our latest outings!

Last but not least, 2 proud parents and 4 well behaved babies at Pasados!

Hope you are all having a great week! Also - this weekend is our walk for March for Babies. Thank you SO much to those of you who helped us reach our goal! For those of you who may want to contribute or walk with us click here!

All Aboard!

This RSV lockdown thing is not fun, but we're trying to make the best of it. Last week we had fairly good weather in our area but it was a bit to windy to take the babies for a walk and the weekend was nasty and rainy outside. We brought in the choo choo wagon to see how the babies fit now that they're a tad bigger than when we purchased it and they loved it. We ended up lugging them all around the house in it, which was a task considering the size of the wagon and the size of our house. I was amazed at how much they enjoyed it and looked around as if they were in a new world!

Brody leading the pack!

As they came down the hall I jumped out and scared each one. There's what... a foot and a half between each of them and yet each time I jumped out it was like the first time! Love this one of Korbin peeking around the corner anticipating Monster-Mommy!

Just a few more months to go.... until then we will continue to look for unique ways to entertain ourselves at home!
